Tim Burke
Burke’s door is a whimsical assemblage
of musical instruments,
metal and found objects.
All his creations – large surreal
sculptures, candlesticks, tables
and more – begin with pieces of
salvaged metal, wood, tile or
glass. His work incorporates
metal from the imploded Hudson’s
Department Store in downtown
Detroit, slate roofing from
burned out mansions, terra cotta
roof caps, stained glass from demolished
churches and other
slivers of Detroit’s past.
