Title: Wind and Changing Weather
The drawing centers around the
alchemical figure representing
Wind, the element of air, surrounded
by symbols of abruptly
changing weather patterns.
Hocking found the door on Detroit’s
east side between Mt. Elliott
and St. Cyril streets, where
dozens of side streets are now
desolate.
He suggests his transformation of
this door with Wind may present
a window to the future, an
alchemical allegory.
