Joe Fugate has long been fascinated
by the ancient symbol of
the cross. The cross is not exclusively
a symbol of Christianity. In
fact, the cross predates Christianity
as a sacred symbol by thousands
of years.
Fugate grew up in a rural area of
Tennessee and his humble origin
has blessed him with a deep connection
to the earth. Frugal by
nature, he treats each found object
as precious and creates assemblages
from the heart.
