These students from U of D Mercy are working with ASWD to design a house to be built from salvaged materials in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit.

Meeting of the project team, including Dan Patera, Carolyn Mosher, Dean Steve Vogel, and Will Wittig of the School of Architecture.
ASWD and the University of Detroit will partner in the construction of a new house in Detroit's historic Woodbridge neighborhood, made from salvaged materials. The University of Detroit Mercy, School of Architecture, will generate renderings and drawings, starting in January 2006. These will be completed by March and construction is planned to begin in June.

Most of the materials used in the construction of the house will come from a home recently deconstructed by ASWD in the suburbs of Chicago. These materials will be brought to Detroit and put together according to designs by U of D. This new building will complement other buildings in this historic neighborhood, and demonstrate how salvage, preservation, and environmental sustainability are fused together in the work that the Architectural Salvage Warehouse of Detroit does.
