Architectural Salvage Warehouse of Detroit, 4885 Fifteenth St., Detroit. It's a nonprofit organization; money raised goes to help with historic preservation. By shopping here, you're helping preserve a piece of history. Hours: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Sunday. For more information: www.aswdetroit.org.or or 313-515-0399. I saw a lot of shelving units and china cabinets from grand old houses. I also saw an oak library table for $40; its drawers were missing, but so what, the table felt sturdy.
